We’re celebrating Halloween with a ghoulishly good run at the edge of darkness from AMS Performance’s PTP-Protected Chevy Caprice, better known as the Iron Maiden tribute “Madness” Hearse! Arne Tomen’s fitting tribute to Eddie has the competition running to the hills now that it currently holds the world record for fastest hearse on the planet with a mind-shattering time of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 146 mph on the quarter mile pass.

This twin-turbo, Garrett-boosted, 1,100 hp trooper is also hauling a fully functional casket and running PTP Lava Turbo Blankets.

Extreme Turbo Systems laid down the law in the East Texas town of Houston at the TX2K15 event, taking the ETS “Super Silver” Nissan GT-R R35 out for a spin to the tune of 7.49 seconds and a top speed of 189 mph, beating AMS Performance and F Performance Garage of Dubai for the fastest GT-R in the world on the quarter mile pass. ETS ran twin Lava PTP Turbo Blankets on the Super Silver’s top-mounted T4 turbo setup. The Super Silver is ETS-built and driven by English Racing.

In early 2013, UT Austin’s Engines and Automotive Research Program initiated a series of comprehensive tests and analysis of the performance benefits associated with the usage of a PTP turbo blanket on a 6.7L Cummins diesel engine.

The results are in! UT Austin researchers stated in their report, Performance Improvements of Turbocharged Engines With The Use of a PTP Turbo Blanket, that, “…[i]n all cases [PTP turbo blanket usage] resulted in an improved boost performance in the intake and a significant time-to-torque advantage of the engine . . .” (p.V)” and that “the key feature of the PTP Turbo Blanket was improvement of turbocharger performance and engine acceleration which will result in improved vehicle acceleration.” (p.31).
